Description

Nectaron is an amazing hop – and it is the star of this non-alcoholic Pale Ale. It is like a fruit bowl explosion that lures you in with a heady aroma – then boom! Followed by a 40 EBU bitterness backbone that prepares you for the next sip. The beer is naturally brewed with a massive dry hop, and without fancy alcohol extraction machines that means all those delicate hop aromas and esters are still in the beer. The special yeast produces only a tiny amount of alcohol (0.3%) while locking in all the flavour. No funny business.

    Gets my 5 stars and in hindsight I’d give 5 as well to the IPA. For reference, anything >0.5% gets 0 stars, Heineken Zero gets 1 star, Asahi Dry Zero gets 2 stars.

    Better than most beers on the market. I accidentally grabbed a can of beer out of the fridge thinking it was a Nectaron. I spat it out and threw it in the bin, it wasn’t what I was after.

    I love this beer, it’s in my top 3 zeros.

    Easily 5 stars, I do not miss full strength beer at all when drinking this. Comes with none of the negatives of an alcoholic beer, but all the taste benefits. Other low alcohol beers really aren’t a match for this.

    So pleased our local Liquorland listened to my recommendation and got some in.

    I had a sample can of the IPA given to me by a bottle store in Taradale (was up there helping out after the cyclone) when buying another 0% beer, and it blew it out of the water. This one is probably even better. But I’ve had the same problem as someone else here with some cans frothing badly on opening, maybe 2-3 per 6 pack. Possibly the best 0%, though there is another brand that is very ‘Good’ too.

    I’m not a big malt fan I like my beer bitter and happy. Nectaron ticks all the box. Fresh clean flavour but still very easy to drink (and enjoy). I avoid alcohol for health reason. Too often zero alcohol lacks flavour and finish. Nectaron is a revolution in zero’s. State of Play have done the impossible big hops no alcohol! I love it.

    I can’t rave enough about what Grant and his team have achieved with this Nectaron ale. The best Zero beer on the market. Pretty sure I have tried them all!
    More importantly , I love a great craft beer, but the alcohol doesn’t love me.
    More than a beer, it’s a life changing moment in a can.

    Defo the most thirst quenching drink around! Initially it was not my favourite but the hoppy finish is so satisfying on a hot day! Now prefer this to any full alcohol beers in NZ!
