Sunbreaker Ale Zero* is a world first zero.
After months of trial the new brew has the signature State of Play full body and finish, fused with the ingredients of the ultimate sunny day elixir. Ginger adds some heat up front, Honey for a warm glow and the Lime cuts through letting all the flavours shine. So if you are looking to brighten up your day, or BYO sunshine at the next midwinter BBQ this is the perfect brew. The beer is brewed 100% naturally using a yeast that fully ferments and creates the beer flavour you want without the alcohol*. The natural Ginger, Honey and Lime is added at the end of the process, then pasteurised to lock in all the flavour. So now Kiwis have a choice – a wonderfully balanced IPA for all day refreshment, a hoptastic Nectaron unfiltered Pale Aleto satisfy a crafty urge and now a brew packed full of sunshine – Sunbreaker Ale.

    I had been visiting the UK in April and May so missed trying Sunbreaker when it was first released. (Incidentally State of Play is definitely leading the Zero charge in NZ and world wide. Tried a lot of zero and very low alcohol beers in UK but nothing compared.) I have to say I love hoppy beers so IPA and Nectaron are right up my alley. My first taste of Sunbreaker left me wondering if it was right for me. But then the ginger under taste kicked in and the more subtle flavours hit my palate and I was sold. A bonus is my wife, who is not a fan of hoppy beers, loves it too. Well done Grant and the team – a great drop.

    I think it’s my favourite from the State of Play stable. Tastes like a full strength beer and with radleresque flavours but without being too sweet. If it tastes this good in winter I can’t wait to try it during kiwi summer.

    Really nice flavour balanced beer. I really like this with an evening meal especially a curry or mexican. Be a great thirst quencher if we get a hot summer!

    I love this beer. First tried at Takapuna markets and have bought another 24 online. Perfect for that hot sunny day when you want something different and refreshing! Just love the mix of ginger, lime and honey in a cold brew. Love your work – keep them coming!

    I really enjoy this beer. It’s a bit like a summer-ale, but not as sweet thankfully. Really refreshing on a summer’s day. I enjoy having a couple of these and then a Nectaron, pre-dinner.
    The best non-alcohol beers I have tasted. Read about them on an inflight magazine on Air New Zealand (pre Sunbreaker), and have been a regular purchaser for over a year now.

    I have been drinking you products since you started brewing . I had to give away the alc beers due to medication . Was never a fan of APIs till I tasted your first API brew ,it was good . Then Sunbreaker which I enjoy on hot days and cold!! . Now Nectaron , a nother good product of yours anytime drink . Keep it up Grant ,
